It has been a few months since i found out that my smena’s sick. Everything’s working perfectly well except it’s B-mode. The shutter simply doesn’t stay open. It must’ve been my fault since the shutter stays open when I first received it. Luckily, it’s still under warranty since I only acquired my Smena 8M this April. I’ve actually been putting off it’s send-off to Hong Kong because I’ve been so busy and I keep on telling myself that an occasion to shoot might come around and my Smena’s gonna miss the fun.

The email I got says that it’s going to take 8 weeks to repair it. 8 weeks?? That means I might get the camera after christmas! But the deed has to be done. I’m not exactly chummy to any camera repairmen =.=

So tomorrow, my Smena’s going to be on its way to Hong Kong. I feel like I’m sending a pet for surgery, only I have 8 weeks to wait for results. sheesh.

The Smena 8M is my favorite camera in my collection. So far I haven’t mastered shooting with it yet, nor have I maximized all of its features.

It almost feels like I have an SLR because everything in the Smena is fully manual – focus, shutter speed and aperture.

I’m just so in love with this camera that I feel so upset about this!
